The stairs down Sunset Hill

This morning I walked about 1.5 miles from my place to Sunset Hill Park, which is high up on a cliff that overlooks the beach at Golden Gardens Park in Ballard. It was a lovely day, so nice considering it’s still technically winter! Once I was there I rested a bit and watched the sailboats cruise around Puget Sound, then decided I wanted to find the steps that lead down the hill to the beach. I got a little more than I bargained for as it ended up being extremely steep and a bit slippery. Once I got down I spent a nice while on the beach, walking along the surf then sitting on a log and watching the waves crash. It’s so lovely being that close to the water; I’ve always lived in an area where there were lots of rivers and lakes, but I’ve never lived near the ocean (is Puget Sound actually considered part of the ocean? It’s salt water…) so it’s a different experience which I quite like.

On the way out of the park I decided I’d go back the way I came. Huu boy, that was *rough.* Just before I reached the top I had to stop and catch my breath since I felt like I was going to pass out. It’s been so long since I exerted myself that much, so my body isn’t used to it anymore. I hope to become more active, especially since I have so much free time now. Anyway, it was a lovely walk! The Pacific Northwest is an incredibly beautiful part of the country…I know I made the right choice in making Seattle my home.

St. Urho

So it’s nearly 2:30 AM and I’m still wide awake. I pretty much slept the day away after spending a whopping 12 hours drinking purple beer with friends yesterday in honor of Finland’s patron St. Urho. For the few hours I was awake tonight I was groggy and exhausted, so I most likely got far too much sleep. I attempted to go to bed around 10 but found I was too restless. So I spent a bit of time working on a website, which helped me settle down a little. Maybe it’s time to try sleep again.

Job offer!

Fantastic news once more! I was offered a job at the company I most wanted to work for and for the amount of money I desired! I’ll be doing the sort of work I am interested in and it’s only a 20-minute bus ride to downtown Seattle! I am very, very pleased about this as it seemed like the perfect fit from the beginning. The company seems like just the sort of business I was going to open with Will back when we were thinking of coming out to the West Coast, but they’re already established so the hard work is already taken care of. I haven’t formally accepted yet, but I have awhile to do so as my start date would be April 30, 2007. In the meantime I plan to work on some websites and finish some of my outstanding projects (ie Totoro and the D20) as well as plan the wedding! *happy*

Interview date set

Jules was just informed of his visa interview date, scheduled for March 28. He’ll have to fly out to Sydney for that and hopefully they’ll be able to issue it the same day. This is the last step in the process of getting him to the states, aside from actually taking the plane over here. Woo!

Wedding thoughts are floating about in my mind…what better to do with time off work than scheme up awesome ways to have fun after getting hitched? :3 I promise our reception will be fun times.

Reservations

Dear Porsche Owner,

Parking in a spot labeled “RESERVED” in a small apartment complex lot is ill-advised if you intend to drive your car home. You may collect your vehicle from Lincoln Towing on Aurora Ave. Good luck!

Love,
Anny

Air

Anyone interested in seeing Air play Tacoma on April 23? They’re promoting their latest album Pocket Symphony, which just came out this week. I’d like to go but I don’t want to go to Tacoma alone. Tickets are $36. Please let me know. I love Air. :D
